Family sessions are so much fun on their own, but add a new location and it’s like Christmas morning for me! I had the opportunity to photograph the wonderful Favel family at the Regina Flying Club. They chose to do their session here as Kyle is working to get his pilot’s license. They thought it would be special to mark the occasion with photos- awesome! As I drove up to the club, located right by the Regina Airport, I was excited! So I couldn’t wait to see what their little boys thought of it! Richelle, their mom, had aviators for the boys- oh, be still my heart. I could barely contain my glee as they ran from plane to plane.
The best part ever came when the boys got to go INSIDE one of the planes, put on some headsets, and pretend they were the pilots! Talk about AWESOME! I am a lover of 1980’s movies, and all my brain played over and over as I shot was, “Highway to the Danger Zone” a la Top Gun, 1986. These kids made pretend flying look so cool. Complete with some dishevelled glasses, that shouted “it was a rough landing”, gave me a good giggle.
I had SO much fun with this session! Thank you, Favel family, for having me along on your super cool adventure! I can’t imagine how awesome it is going to be when you can take family trips by airplane!
