We grew up with the Paquin family- yes, “we”, both Cam & I! Our families attended the same church and were part of the same friend group. I can remember so many lunches and hangouts that our 3 families (and a few others) spent together. They are basically one of those families in our lives that we couldn’t imagine our lives without!
Not only that, but our families are actually connected through marriage! Cam’s brother is married to their oldest daughter. After knowing our spouses for our whole lives, it was weird when our siblings chose to marry people OUTSIDE the family friend group… “But, but we haven’t known these people since they were 5!!! I don’t know their entire family history- how could this ever work?!?” So the Paquin family is part of our extended family too, and we are so thankful that we had the opportunity to capture photos of their family over the weekend.
We ventured out to one of their frequent walking trails – the Wascana Habitat Conservation Area. It is a beautiful, secluded ‘little’ area of 23 acres. There are some great walking paths and views of the lake, as well as you can sometimes see turtles and other wildlife.
Incorporating locations that are important to a family is one of our favourite things. So needless to say, when they suggested the Conservation Area, we were definitely game!
Reconnecting with this family that has long been part of ours, felt like a little reunion. Having the opportunity to capture them with their beautiful children and grandchildren is such an honour for us. Each one is so precious!
Thank you, Paquin family, for allowing Cam & I to capture these moments of your family. All of you are forever part of our upbringing and have played a part in who we have become. We are so blessed to have you all as part of our family and we love you all!
xoxo
Cam & Courtney
