All the way back in spring, I had the honour of helping the McCullough family announce some big news. Last week, I was so happy to finally meet the sweet little face that accompanied that big news! I travelled out to the McCullough residence, just outside of Regina, to cuddle the smallest little babe I’ve ever seen!
Cohen just couldn’t wait to meet his family, and decided that he wanted to surprise them all by coming a bit early. After some bumps along the way, Cohen made his grand entrance into the world at just 34 weeks gestation. Cohen weighed a precious 4 pounds, 1 ounce at birth. He spent a couple of weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Regina, but being the feisty little guy Cohen is, he fought – well, ate! – his way right out of there!
It has always amazed me how such little packages can bring such HUGE, even overwhelming amounts of love, joy, and excitement to a household. It is very evident that precious little Cohen has brought all of those feelings to his family. His two older sisters are never too far away, always keeping a watchful eye, and are quick to interpret what every little cry or squawk might mean. As we did Cohen’s photos (in his fantastic rustic nursery!) I had a shadow (sometimes two!), who also had a camera in hand, capturing the moments herself, just to be sure I didn’t miss anything! I will say, that was the first session I’ve done where, while working away photographing a newborn, I was also having my hair braided!
Thank you, McCullough family, it was an absolute pleasure to be able to take newborn photos of Cohen. I can’t wait to watch your precious little man as he grows!
