I have had the pleasure of taking photos of so many little blessings in the last 6 months! The last little one I met arrived in May, and I’ll be honest guys, he’s my nephew, Oliver. So I may be a little biased, but I think he is pretty dang cute!  We have had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Carlen & Amy a few times now – engagement, wedding and maternity!

 

I typically do my newborn sessions within the first 7-10 days after the baby is born. For this session, I went up to the Regina General Hospital to capture sweet little Oliver, when he was less than 16 hours old! I was able to capture their first photos as a family of 4- including the moment when my niece met her new brother! It was so precious!

 

Oliver, you are a beautiful little boy, and SO much like your daddy already. Super chill, go with the flow, able to keep your cool amidst the chaos. Your mom does appear to have some traits in you as well. Your blonde, blonde hair looks as though you will carry on your mom’s fiery red hair, which we all LOVE! Your sister loves you so much- you don’t know what you’re in for, sweetie! Not long after meeting you, she attempted to crawl into your bassinet to share crackers with you. She is going to love you fiercely, whether you’re ready for it or not. We love you so much, sweet boy. It is our prayer that you grow in strength and rootedness in who you are as a member of this family, but most importantly, in God’s family.

 

Amy & Carlen, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these moments for you. It was a very special moment to see you together as a family of 4 for the very first time. Amy, you are amazing! To have given birth, and be up to having your photos taken less than 16 hours later? You looked absolutely stunning- there is nothing more beautiful than the joy of a radiant new mom!
