Fall in Saskatchewan can be one of two things- beautifully warm, or still beautiful but freezing. Thankfully, Matt & Katie got the former for their beautiful fall wedding, held outside of Regina.

It was a perfect setting. A farm wedding overlooking the valley near Lumsden, surrounded by close family and friends. It was a beautiful location, the kind you find where all your senses were engaged. Listening to the wind blowing through the trees that were turning brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and red. The smell of fall on the breeze, and the sounds of busy bees, and friendly chickens. The farm, owned by Matt’s uncle, was a gorgeous property, complete with horses, cats, bees, and free range chickens- one of which will come when you call it! There was even a wedding bow tie for this dog-like chicken, but he graciously declined wearing it, insisting he did not want to steal the show. Matt & Katie were married under a beautiful arch, which was put up the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding by Matt’s uncle- you know you’re loved when…! Such a beautiful and intimate ceremony, officiated by Matt’s aunt. I just love when family can be involved in these big life moments!

Katie looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress. It was so delicate, and the overlay paired with the wind coming off the valley- oh!- made me swoon. Katie’s bridesmaids also looked so beautiful in their dresses, and hanging out with them in the morning was so much fun. Their bouquets from Gale’s Florists captured the essence of fall to a TEE- the beautiful fall colours and choice of flowers included in them were superb. Matt and his groomsmen looked very sharp in their suits with fall accent colours. I had heard mention of the groomsmen requesting to hold falcons on their arms as part of their wedding attire, but sadly, this was not included. Although, had that gone through, in my mind I do picture the ceremony going very differently… All in all, a beautiful day shared with some really great people!

Matt & Katie, thank you so much for allowing Courtney Liske Photography to be a part of your beautiful wedding day. We had such a great time working with you and your wedding party. I loved getting to see firsthand those quirks between the two of you that make you unique as a couple. It is very clear to see that you both view your life together as an adventure, and one that is meant to be enjoyed. I’m still so in love with Matt’s ostrich socks- those were, hands down, some of the best groom socks I have seen to date! Enjoy your time in Maui- hope you are finding time to relax, soak up some sun, and maybe even try a local beer or two.
