Kids grow up WAY too fast. I mean, WAY. TOO. FAST. New parents with your fresh, newborn babes in your arms- don’t blink. Cherish every sleepless night. Every tiny diaper change. Every time they fall asleep on you (possibly after spitting up on you). Every tear. Every time those pudgy little arms reach up to you for comfort. Before you know it, your baby is suddenly grown up, and waving to you as they climb up the steps on the school bus. I have 3 kids, and time just seems to fly by faster and faster with each child. Sometimes I can find myself caught up in a White Rabbit mentality of “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date! No time to say ‘hello’, ‘goodbye’, I’m late! I’m late! I’m late!” All the while missing out on the Wonderland in which I’m living!

I don’t often do stylized shoots, but let me say, this one was SO much fun and very special. Besides the fact that I love a good story, what made it all the more special was that my lovely little model is my nearly 4 year old daughter, Hayden. It isn’t too often that we get time for just the two of us, away from the craziness of the boys in our house, so it was pretty special to her that this time when mommy went out to “do her photo shoots” that it was just for her. Hayden is turning 4 soon, and she is planning to have an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed birthday, so we worked at getting her an Alice costume – complete with an adorable apron made by her super awesome sewing aunt – and even though it was a rather chilly day, we got her all ‘Alice’d” up and away we went!

I know my girl can’t be the only one obsessed with a certain fairy tale or story, so lets come up with an idea for your kids! I know this will be a memory she will have for years to come- lets do the same for you!
